The Host Organization

IE-NO-HIKARI Association

Theme

The participant is free to choose any theme about which he or she wishes to express
himself or herself.
However, drawings of copyrighted characters, a copy and/or reproduction of the artworks that infringe the proprietary right of any third party will not be accepted
 

Rules for Pictures

  • Size : 728mm x 515mm or smaller, and with thickness of 3mm or less.
  • Painting materials : The participant can use any materials.
  • Method : Any method is acceptable.

Eligible Participants

6 - 15 years old

Application Period

June 1 - September 30, 2009
(The picture must be received in the IE-NO-HIKARI Association by this date.)

Announcement (Tentative)

  • Results will be announced on this website in end-January, 2010.
  • The IE-NO-HIKARI Association will send the result notice to all the participating
    organizations (or to each participant if he or she participated in the contest
    individually) in April, 2010.
  • The IE-NO-HIKARI Association will put together the awarded works into a
    commemorative book, and will also send the book all the participating organizations.

Prizes

  • Gold Prize : 20 people
  • Silver Prize : 40 people
  • Bronze Prize : 60 people
  • Honorable Mention : 80 people
  • Gold, Silver and Bronze Prize Winners will be awarded a certificate of merit and a commemorative gift. Honorable Mention Winners will be awarded a certificate of merit.

Note

  • Each child may submit only one picture. Collaborative pieces are not eligible. The picture must be unreleased.
  • No work can be returned to the applicant.
  • All rights to entry pictures will belong to the host organization.
  • In some cases, children's artworks will be loaned out for activities and events
    promoting children's art education, etc. in Japan.
  • Please make certain of filling the application form completely in English (block letters)..
    Lack of information or illegible hand may cause troubles such as misreading of a
    name and title or return of the prize for the award winner as undeliverable.
  • One organization can send 200 pictures at most; if more than 200 pictures are
    submitted to one organization, please select 200 or less pictures in the organization beforehand.
